Ready, Set, Shop!
This was such a wildly popular post during the Fall, that I thought I would bring back a list of the Spring 2012 Consignment Sales in Northern Virginia. I’ve listed the larger ones (and, some of my favorites!) in this area – but, for a more comprehensive list (and, for those of you who live in Maryland and DC), you can visit Our Kids Activities and Resources to find a sale near you!
Consignment sales are a terrific way to make a little money on the gently used children’s items in your house. If you’re anything like us, you probably have an overabundance of kids’ clothes, books, toys, and random gear! While we try to share our “stuff” with friends and family, there are times when we can’t find anyone interested in it (I mean, who really wants that loudly annoying baby cell phone that repeats itself ad nauseum?!). So, instead of overloading the dumpsters (many of our thrift stores refuse toys and baby gear), we decided to sell it very cheaply. Parents shopping at consignment sales are overjoyed with their “great finds” and you are jubilant over cleaning your home and making a few extra dollars.
If the idea of consigning is overwhelming, Just Between Friends of Loudoun County is offering short tutorials to help you through the process. On Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 7:00 PM and Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 5:30 PM, you can attend a Consigning 101 Class at the Dulles Sportplex for FREE! Please RSVP to Susan Gill at susangill@jbfsale.com. Let her know which date you would like to attend. There will be about 30-40 minutes of instructions, demonstration, and consigning strategies. It is for anyone involved in wanting to take it to the next level – whether it be a 1st timer, or someone that has done a ton of consigning. They will show you the ropes of Just Between Friends; what we do different from other sales, and ways to strategize your consigning season with other sales, and welcome you to the family!
{If you would like to add your business to this list, please email capitallyfrugal(at)gmail(dot)com, with the information about your sale. I will try to update the list, as fast as possible.}
