One of the questions I’m asked on a regular basis is how to eat healthy on a budget. I started working on a post to compile my ideas – but, it morphed into such a lengthy post that I decided to break it up into smaller weekly posts. Don’t forget to read last week’s post about Following Favorite All-Natural/Organic Companies – I listed some of my favorite companies who offer printable coupons in exchange for signing up for their email alerts!
Tip 2: Join Recyclebank
If you haven’t jumped on the Recyclebank bandwagon, you really should! {And, aside from 25 points for first time referrals, I promise that they didn’t pay me to say that!
} For those of you who are not familiar with Recyclebank, it’s a company that is working towards a world without waste by rewarding people for taking everyday green actions.
It’s free to join, and in exchange for taking short quizzes and other fun “green” exercises, you accrue points that turn into great rewards! And, unlike many “reward” websites that have 30 minute long surveys (which you fill out, only to find at the end, that you don’t qualify), Recyclebank’s quizzes are fast AND always give you a reward at the end.
My favorite part of Recyclebank are the rewards! I especially love their store coupons: $10 off a $50 Harris Teeter purchase, $10 off a $50 purchase at Healthway Natural Foods, and $5 off a $25 Shoppers Food and Pharmacy. I usually grab a $10 off $50 Harris Teeter purchase coupon once a month to stock up on all-natural meats and organic items that never have a coupon (or rarely go on sale!) – I look at it as my own 20% off coupon! {Our Harris Teeter also lets us stack a Harris Teeter and a Shoppers coupon (because it’s a competitor coupon) to get even better savings!}
Or, if you don’t have a Harris Teeter or Shoppers Food & Pharmacy near you, Recyclebank also offers great coupons for all-natural/organic products such as Odwalla (love their organic smoothies!), Happy Family (why couldn’t they offer these when A was a baby!?), Kashi, Dasani, Bumble Bee and more!
If you’re bewildered by the Recyclebank process, I assure you that it’s very simple! Just sign up for an account or login here. Then, visit these sites to earn points:
