Some of the benefits of living in Loudoun County are the gorgeous countryside and beautiful plantation-style homes, both of which generally soothe the angst over our high cost of living! But, if you’re an apartment dweller like we are, you’re not always able to enjoy the fresh air and rolling hills. But, there is a solution: a weekend getaway to a local area Bed and Breakfast!
And, Loudoun County offers some of the most picturesque Bed & Breakfasts. Still not convinced? The Loudoun Bed & Breakfast Guild is offering an Open House Tour this Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM. It is a really fun event for the whole family and a relaxing way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The event is free and offers visitors an opportunity to tour local B&B’s at their own pace. Owners will be on hand to answer any questions – that way, you’ll be better able to decide which Bed & Breakfast fits your idea of pampering the best!
Eleven Bed & Breakfasts and event sites will be taking part in the Loudoun Bed & Breakfast Guild Open House Tour this year. I love that many of my favorite local restaurants (Magnolias at the Mill, Grandale Farm Restaurant, Tuscarora Mill and The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm) will be participating and providing samples of their food at certain B&B’s! To see which B&B will be hosting your favorite restaurant, read their flier!
And, visitors to the participating B&Bs can enter to win prize drawings totaling over $ 1000 in overnight stays, gift certificates, and other special prizes. For brides-to-be, Gala Cuisine, Rose Hill Manor’s in-house caterer will be showcasing their cuisine at the property. And, don’t forget to visit the Art in the Barn show in the beautifully restored historic barn at Montrose Farm B&B in Purcellville, where local artists will be showcasing their talents.
Here are the participating Bed & Breakfasts:

Stone Manor Vineyard and Orchard B&B
Silverbrook Farm B&B
