Review & Giveaway {Fuel Rewards Program}

Who doesn’t cringe at the ever-rising cost of gas?  We recently became a two-car family (after sharing one car for the last 5 years!), and I’ve been slightly horrified to see the money rapidly draining from the “car-expense” portion of our budget!  And, sadly, there are never gas coupons in my Sunday newspaper.

But, now, there is something even better than a one-time use coupon!  The Fuel Rewards Network program recently launched in the DC area to help you lower your fuel prices.

How does it work?

• Sign up (or register) your Fuel Rewards Network card.  They can mail one to you, or you can pick one up at a participating Shell station.
• Link all your FRN program retailers’ rewards cards to your account to combine Fuel Rewards savings earned across participating grocery and retail locations, restaurants and online merchant purchases.
• Shop and earn Fuel Rewards, while you’re buying groceries or eating out!
• Fuel up at a participating Shell station near you, insert your FRN Card at the pump, and watch the price of gas drop!

Here are some ways you can build up Fuel Rewards:

o   Shop their Online Mall – Access nearly 700 brand name online merchants (like Groupon, Best Buy, and Old Navy!) offering 5 cents per gallon for every $50 you spend. Some merchants may offer 2x, 5x, 10x rewards or more – so you can multiply your savings!

o   Eat at a Participating Restaurant – Earn 10 cents per gallon for every $50 you spend when you dine at more than 10,000 participating restaurant locations nationwide (I was excited to see that Macaroni Grill, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, & la Madeleine are on the list).

o   Shop at a Participating Grocery Store – Many grocers (including Bi-Lo, Rainbow, Jewel-Osco, Copps, Save Mart Supermarkets, and more) also offer increased earning opportunities through incremental offers such as:
