Several of you have emailed me about the lack of Halloween posts on my blog – and, I’m sure all of you have noticed that the Capitally Frugal calendar is missing Halloween-related activities. And, no, it’s not just because I’m too swamped to post updates (although that is partly true!).
Several years ago, our family made the decision to avoid the October 31st celebration of ghosts and goblins; and, I know some of my readers have similar convictions, so I try to focus on more uplifting family events, rather than ones that are scary.
As a great alternative, our church, Faithway Baptist, will be hosting a Fall Family Festival this Sunday, October 28th at 5:30 PM in Lovettsville, VA. There will be a moon bounce, yummy appetizers and desserts, and, of course, candy for the children. Plus…
- Hot Dogs and S’mores over the bonfire
- Pumpkin painting activities
- Cotton Candy Machine
- Kids Candy Hunt
- Pumpkin Slingshot Contest and much more!
- Family Photo Ops!
For those of you who are interested in attending, please RSVP to capitallyfrugal{at}gmail.com or by leaving a comment on this post. We’ll email you back with the exact address – and, it will help our church get an idea of how much food/candy to prepare! Hope to see you there!
