Mark Your Calendar {Tax Free Weekend 2013!}

In about two weeks, Tax Free Weekends will be popping up all over the country!  It’s one of my favorite times of the year – the tax is waived on select school supplies, clothing and footwear.  And, since companies realize that the majority of the area is shopping that weekend, they will offer great discounts to entice you into their stores.  Our family loves taking advantage of the penny crayons and notebooks and the deeply reduced dress clothes for my husband!  Last year, I wrote this popular post about planning your Back to School shopping trip, and I thought I would share it with you again.

For those of my Virginia readers, Tax Free Weekend is scheduled for August 2-4!  During this three-day period, purchases of certain school supplies, clothing and footwear will be exempt from the Virginia sales tax. Each eligible school supply item must be priced at $20 or less, and each eligible article of clothing and footwear must be priced at $100 or less.

At the beginning of the August 2nd weekend, I will write another post, listing all the store/manufacturer coupons you can print to make your shopping trip even more effective!  So, don’t forget to check back!
