Daily Deal Sites

While I’m not a huge sports fan, I know many of you are looking for inexpensive tickets to a Nationals game.  Right now, The Capitol Deal (Washington Post’s Daily Deal Site) is hosting a 50% off sale for tickets – the best deal I’ve seen so far!

Cheer on Bryce Harper as the Nationals play the St. Louis Cardinals (Tuesday, April 23rd at 7:05 PM) or the Cincinnati Reds on two nights (Thursday, April 25th at 7:05pm or Friday, April 26th at 7:05pm ).

You can choose from these seats:

  • $9.50**/$10 – Upper Infield Gallery ($19/$20 Value!)
  • $17**/$18 – LF/RF Mezzanine ($34/$36 Value!)
  • $22**/$22.50 – LF/RF Corner (Field Level seating area, $44/$45 Value!)

**Apr. 23 vs. Cardinals is a Value Tier game and will cost the lower of the two prices listed above.

Completely unrelated to the Capitol Deal but still on the topic of saving money at Nationals games, for those of you who have children, ages 4-12, be sure to sign up for free ROOKIE membership into the Jr. Nationals MVP.  All children (ages 4-12) can run the bases after select Sunday home games, weather permitting, and will have special meet and greet opportunities.

So, you can plan ahead, here are this year’s dates for Kids Run the Bases:

  • April 14
  • April 28
  • May 12
  • May 26
  • June 9
  • June 23
  • July 7
  • July 21
  • July 28
  • September 1
  • September 15
  • September 22

And, be sure to keep on eye on the National’s promotional schedule!  Once a month, starting on May 8th, they will be $1 Hotdog Nights.

$1 Ice Cream Nights will be held on Thursday, June 20 and Tuesday, July 2, available at select concession stands until the start of the 6th inning, while supplies last.

Military, Senior Citizens, and Government Employees can receive a $5 discount on select seating on gameday at the Box Office only.

Fans age 18 and under or with a valid student ID can save 25% off any ticket priced $25 or less. Tickets must be purchased on gameday at the Box Office only.

Reader Tip: Saving Money at Vine.com

by sarah on 01/29/2013

For those of you who purchase organic/green products, here is a great money saving tip from Rachel H!

I recently discovered Vine.com, which is a site that sells green and natural products, from various different companies like Earth’s Best and Nature’s Path.  I love that you don’t have to worry about whether a product is truly “green.”  Vine.com reviews the claims of all their products to make sure they are either organic, natural, energy- or water-efficient; run on their own renewable energy; are made from sustainable materials; or contribute to a healthier home.

Last month, I ordered presents for myself and my kids for Christmas and was very pleased with the quality.  Plus, it’s wonderful to shop on one site and find products ranging from household cleaners and organic foods to “green” children’s toys and cat food!

If you want to shop at Vine.com by putting in my referral code of RachH, you will automatically get 15% off your total purchase (excluding sale items, I believe).  And, you can also earn 6% back by using Ebates.

So if you plan your purchase right from Vine.com, you can get free Two-Day shipping with a $49 order, 15% off, and 6% cash back from Ebates. Making your purchase around $42 with over $2 back by from Ebates :-) .

Editor’s Note: Be sure to keep an eye on Recyclebank for Vine.com money saving coupons.  There were some available earlier this month (a great $15 off $30 purchase for 80 points).  But, since I’ve been under the weather, I took too long in letting you know and they are no longer available.  But, don’t despair, many times, Recyclebank will bring back popular coupons in a few weeks.

Most of you have heard me rave about Gaylord National’s ICE! Celebration, opening on Friday, November 16th.  {If you haven’t, you can read my post about the gorgeous Christmas wonderland they create, entirely out of ice!}

If you are planning to attend ICE!, today’s Living Social deal is for you: $25 for a $50 voucher to Ketchup, National Harbor’s hautest eatery.  The National Harbor area can be a little pricey; and, holidays are already an expensive time of year!  So, this is a way to feed your family for $25, and enjoy a yummy, sit-down meal!   A while back, we purchased this deal and savored every bite of Ketchup’s delicious burgers and sweet potato fries.

Right now, the Capitol Deal is offering $30 worth of ScoreBig credit for just $5!  The best part?  You don’t have to live in Washington, DC to take advantage of this deal!  Check the ScoreBig website to find deals on tickets in your area!

For those of you who are not familiar with ScoreBig, it’s a very similar to Priceline.  You know, that site where you can bid on airfare, hotel, and car rentals?  ScoreBig lets you bid on sports, concert and theater tickets, and it’s very simple!  Just sort the events by city, date, and venue type, then bid on the show of your choice.  I love that they offer a note, letting you know the “going” price of the tickets.  That way, you don’t waste your time by bidding $0.50 for $100 seats.

If you DO live in Washington, DC, ScoreBig has tickets for two performances to Disney on Ice: Rockin’ Ever After, coming to the Patriot Center next week, with an average savings of 10%.   And, for the DC-area sports aficionados out there, there are tickets to Redskins and Wizards games, with savings up to 50% off!
