Anyone planning to bike to work tomorrow, Friday, May 17th? Right now, over 12,000 commuters in the Washington, DC area will be participating in tomorrow’s celebration of bicycling as a clean, fun and healthy way to get to work.
In need of a bike? Bike and Roll Washington DC will offer complimentary comfort hybrid bike rentals to locals for Bike to Work Day! To reserve, please call 202.842.2453 or email: DowntownDC@bikethesites.com with the following information: Name(s), Local address, Phone, Height, Desired pick-up location (Downtown DC or Alexandria only). Early pick-up available 5pm to 7pm Thursday, May 16th. Day-of pick-up begins at 7am. Photo ID and credit card information will be required at time of pick-up as a deposit. Card will not be charged as long as bike is returned by 5:45 May 17th. If you want to keep the bike longer, please let us know when you arrive to pick-up your bike.
There will be over 70 pit stops throughout D.C., Maryland, and Virginia handing out refreshments and treats. Plus, if you register ahead of time and check-in at your local pit stop, you’ll be entered to win some great giveaways and *might* receive a free t-shirt. (Right now, they have reached 12,000 registrations and can no longer guarantee T-shirts going forward, but you can check with your pit stop on Bike to Work Day for possible extra shirts.)

Georgetown Pit Stop (from 7:30 – 9:30 AM)
From 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., bike to Georgetown’s pit stop at the Waterfront Park (K Street & Wisconsin Avenue NW) and receive a free t-shirt, enjoy refreshments and raffles from Popchips, Sprinkles Cupcakes, Dean and Deluca, and more. National Geographic Society (from 7:30 – 10:00 AM)
This stop’s free refreshments and treats will be sponsored by some great companies: National Geographic Maps, Potbelly Sandwich, Caribou Coffee, Keany Produce Co., Dolcezza Gelato, and much more!
Tyson’s Corner Center (from 6:30 – 10:00 AM)
This year Tysons Corner Center will be hosting a pit stop on the flat parking lot directly in front of LL Bean in between Nordstrom and Bloomingdales. They will have free refreshments, free bike tune-ups, raffles and more! Plus, this year Tysons Corner Center will donate a bike rack to Freedom Hill Elementary School (F.H.E.S) if 100 people visit their pit stop.
